Visual Geez

Visual Geez is one of the most popular Amharic software in the country. Currently, it is the only Unicode-standard compliant full-fledged Geez software in Ethiopia.

EdDat is an Educational Database Management System that is currently used by the Ministry of Education and all all regional education offices.

 EdDat is a successful system which has been in use since 1996.

SRP stands for Student Recruitment and Placement. It is used to recruit and place secondary school gradates into institutions of Higher Education.

To make the placement activity fair, the system encrypts every student's details before the recruitment commences. The student's data remains encrypted until the placement is finalized.

Given the required criteria, the system selects a set of students that best satisfy the criteria.        

The system has been in use since 1997.

ENASoft is a set of three integrated applications developed  for the Ethiopian News Agency (ENA). ENASoft  is bilingual (Amharic and English) news processing and management software that is used to create, edit, transmit and archive news stories. Regional Sites & the Center are interconnected using Wide Area Network (WAN).

 ENASoft consists of three components that were developed to work as integrated system. These are:

• ENASoft Regional

• ENASoft Central

• Regional News Monitor (ENARNM)

ENASoft Regional is used by Regional sites of ENA to create, manage, and transmit news to the ENA head office using a dial-up networking.

Regional News Monitor (ENARNM) is used at the ENA head office to monitor incoming news stories, which are then automatically routed to the ENASoft Central to be processed by staff of the Regional Desk.

 ENASoft Central is client/server system, which is used by the different desks of ENA to process and manage news stories at the head office.

This is a large client/server system that CUSTOR has recently developed for the Acts and Documents Registration office of the Addis Ababa City Administration.  The system includes computerization of the following activities:

• General, Family and Attorney Agency

• Vehicle, Business, Residence and Other Property Sales

• Contract Agreements Management

• Registration of Undertakings, Memorandum and Articles of Association

• Checking Court Injunction on Various Properties and Individuals

• Document Registration

• Signature Verification

EthioLaw is a fully bi-lingual system that is a depository of all Ethiopian Legal Codes:   Commercial Code, Penal Code, Civil Code, etc.

EthioLaw demonstrates the capability of supporting indexing and searching Amharic documents based on custom noise words and delimiters.

EthioLaw provides many features of a well-developed document management system.
